**SIEM REAP— Joy, relief and celebration filled the finish line as runners crossed the final stretch of the 11th Angkor Empire Marathon, marking the end of their remarkable achievement.**
**More than 6,500 runners from 51 countries registered for this year's event, with participation in the full marathon increasing significantly compared with last year. About 1,000 international runners took part, with the largest groups coming from China, Japan and France.**
**Held on Aug. 2 at the Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap province, the marathon featured four race categories: the 42km full marathon, 21km half marathon, 10km, and 3km fun run.**
