**A new record for the Angkor Empire Marathon 2026!** 🎉 The Angkor Empire Marathon 2026 welcomed a record-breaking 6,500 runners from 51 countries, marking a 25% increase from last year and further strengthening Cambodia's reputation as a world-class destination for international sporting events. This year's participants included 5,450 Cambodian runners and 1,050 international runners, with the largest overseas contingents coming from China, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Held during the Green Season, the marathon showcased the breathtaking beauty of the Angkor Archaeological Park, taking runners past lush forests, rice fields, traditional villages, and more than 40 ancient temples, including the iconic Angkor Wat. Adding to its global prestige, the Angkor Empire Marathon was named by Forbes Travel Guide as one of the "12 Marathons Worth Travelling For in 2026," alongside renowned races such as the Boston Marathon and the Great Wall Marathon.
