The high-level event was attended by HRH Prince Sisowath Thommico, Member of the Senate and President of Alliance Française; H.E. Nguyen Minh Vu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Cambodia; H.E. Kim Sothin, representative of Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts; H.E. Mol Vibol, representative of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training; Ms. Many Rainsy, representative of H.E. Speaking at this significant event, H.E. the Minister emphasized that the Francophonie Village event in Siem Reap has become an important annual event and a platform for gathering, learning, and exchanging experiences. It brings together the French-speaking community, business people, artists, youth, and the general public to share and showcase the cultural diversity of various countries. This represents not only the sharing of a language, but also embodies the values of solidarity, cultural diversity, dialogue, and openness to the world. At the same time, H.E. the Minister stated that the Francophonie Village event aligns with the Ministry of Tourism’s goal to promote more diversified, inclusive, and sustainable tourism development by enhancing visitor experiences, promoting local talents and creations, supporting businesses, and creating new economic opportunities for local communities. Featuring over 50 exhibition booths with participation from Vietnam, Laos, and other countries, the event also reflects the cultural diversity and tourism potential of various nations, while contributing to the promotion of cultural exchange and regional cooperation. Furthermore, H.E. the Minister called upon all national and international guests to join in celebrating the Francophonie Village event in Phnom Penh, which will take place from November 13 to 17, 2026, at Wat Botum Vatey Public Park under the theme “Khmer Smile, Francophonie Smile.” This 5-day event will feature numerous programs, including conferences, panel discussions, artistic performances, and culinary explorations to create opportunities for gatherings, cultural exchange, and the promotion of Cambodia’s tourism potential to visitors from around the world.
