**Selarati: “Making Them Feel Like They Are Koun Khmer” Priscilla Kim Ong, Khmer-Krom-American, describes returning to the country our parents left as shifting from feeling “in between worlds” to genuinely belonging in all of them. She grew up feeling not Khmer enough, not American enough, and was disconnected from her Khmer roots because she couldn’t speak the language and only knew the culture through the Khmer New Year at the pagoda and family gatherings. She decided to establish Selarati, a homecoming tour for Khmer diaspora to experience Cambodia not just as tourists but as people who truly belong here.
